I was 9 years old during the 1984 Summer Olympics in LA and I spent countless hours that summer perfecting my cartwheel, back bend, hand stand and other
very simple gymnastic skills after watching Mary Lou
Retton win the All-Around gold medal in women's gymnastics. I even threw in some ribbon action from random rhythmic gymnastic routines. So it thrilled my heart to see Jillian practice flipping and flopping around our back yard after watching
Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson's amazing performances this week. She is much better at gymnastics at 3 than I was at 9!

BTW~Jason was ready to catch Jillian in case she slipped. Yes, I
panicked when I first saw her skin-the-cat on her swing set.

Do you also remember seeing Mary Lou on the Wheaties box? Those were the days!
