I often read this very informative blog, because it contains a wealth of realistic information re: international adoption. The author recently posted a summary of Amy Eldridge's presentation about the changing face of China adoption. I highly recommend Adoption Talk to families considering and/or paperchasing an adoption from China. It is also a great site for families home from China and I'm especially interested in posts concerning the adult adoptee perspective. If you are awaiting a NSN referral from China and constantly asked "WHY is it taking so long?", simply forward this link or direct them HERE.

Thanks, Sunny. I am reading, reading, reading...:-)
Thank you so much for posting about this blog. I went to the summary of Amy Ethridge's speech and found it very interesting. It is the most comprehensive explanation for the slow down that I have ever read. It makes a lot of sense. Not any easier to swallow and doesn't offer any hope for those still waiting for non-SN but it is at least an explanation people can get their minds around.
I agree! I think the NSN families deserve some sort of explanation and this summary does a great job outlining all the many factors that contribute to the drastic increase in referral wait times. I remember those dark times when we "patiently" awaited Sarah Matin's referral. Little did I know our baby was waiting for us in the Waiting Child program. We knew we wanted her the moment she saw her precious face.
I LOVE seeing your new photos of Taylor! She is a DOLL! Miss y'all!
