Winter Blahs...

The winter blahs have set in. I've been a blog slacker for a few weeks now, so I've decided to dedicate one post to showcase a few of our household events...

Confession Session

  • (Week 3) Weight GAINED: 1.3 lbs
  • (Week 4) Weight LOST: .3 lbs
  • 4.8 lbs away from goal weight!

*************************

Jillian spotted this cake while on a field trip to Food Land with her preschool class last week. She insisted that we secretly order one for her daddy's birthday and she kept it a secret for three whole days! It was yummers and I was very surprised that I lost .3 lbs last week!
*************************

We attended our local FCC (Families with Children from China) chapter's annual Chinese New Year celebration the weekend after last. We all had a great time meeting new families and enjoying Chinese cuisine & culture until....the above dragon unexpectedly made his appearance. Jillian was terrified and attempted to climb under the table to hide. Jason quickly took her to the car to escape the dragon dance and upcoming firecrackers. Once she was safely in the car she asked Jason : "WHY did we come here?!?!?!?". Bless her heart. She is deathly afraid of costumes and mascots (including the Chic-Fil-A Cow), so our week-long Disney World extravaganza has been postponed for a few more years. Is this normal? We've tried everything to help her work through this overwhelming fear of costumes. Any suggestions?

I totally understand. Grady is the same way, but we are going to Disney World anyway--leaving Tuesday:) I am hoping this trip will help him deal with his fears especially when he sees Rollins with them. I will let you know how it goes:)

Zeb is 11 and still afraid of costumed characters. I have not had pics with Santa since he was 2 and he cried then. We have never been to Disney because of the characters. 2 years ago I finally got a pic with him and Big Al, all thanks to his cousin and Zeb's need to be cool! So moral of the story, it does not get any better! Sorry!

I wish I knew the answer. Tori is afraid of costumed characters and nothing we try has worked. Her cusin, that she loves, is the panther for Cleveland and she will not get near her.Sorry.I hope they grow out of it.
